Website Visitors

Like most website operators, Compare Driving school “CDS” collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. CDS’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how CDS’s visitors use its website. From time to time, CDS may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

CDS also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for visitors leaving comments on Comparedrivingschool.com . CDS only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that blog commenter IP addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog where the comment was left.

We collect two kinds of information related to you: (a) Personally Identifiable Information ("PII"); and (b) Non-Personally Identifiable Information ("Non-PII").

We may use your non-PII by itself or aggregate it with information we have obtained from others to produce research reports and other information and data about online shopping for participating merchants and other customers, as well as media and other interested parties.

(a) Cookies and Web Beacons: We automatically receive and store certain types of non-PII whenever you interact with us by using "cookies" and analogous technology. Please be advised, however, that while we strive to protect your PII, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you disclose or transmit to us online and are not responsible for the theft, destruction, or inadvertent disclosure of your PII. In the unfortunate event that your personally identifiable information is compromised, we will notify you by e-mail to the last e-mail address you have provided us as soon as feasible under the circumstances (delays in notification may occur while we take necessary measures to determine the scope of the breach and restore reasonable integrity to the system, as well as for the legitimate needs of law enforcement if notification would impede a criminal investigation).

(a) What Information Can I Access? If you register as a CDS member, you will typically have access to an account section that includes the registration information you previously provided which you can update or correct at any time. If there is any inaccurate information that you are not able to correct, just let us know. Also, if you wish, you can delete your membership account entirely although we may retain certain information in limited circumstances - e.g., to resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems and enforce our terms of use. Furthermore, some information is never completely removed from our databases due to technical (e.g., information that is stored in our "back-up" systems) and certain legal constraints.

You have many choices regarding how we use information about you, including: (1) To stop our emails (2) To opt-out of third party advertising; (3) To stop the sharing of PII with our participating merchants, and (4) as discussed above, the choices we offer you anytime you submit information through our Sites or Services.

Certain visitors to CDS’s websites choose to interact with CDS in ways that require CDS to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that CDS gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who sign up for a user account at Comparedrivingschool.com to provide a username and email address. CDS collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with CDS. CDS does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

Aggregated Statistics

Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

CDS discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on CDS’s behalf or to provide services available at CDS’s websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using CDS’s websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. CDS will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, CDS discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only when required to do so by law, or when CDS believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of CDS, third parties or the public at large.

If you are a registered user of an CDS website and have supplied your email address, CDS may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with CDS and our products. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. CDS takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. CDS uses cookies to help CDS identify and track visitors, their usage of CDS website, and their website access preferences. CDS visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using CDS’s websites, with the drawback that certain features of CDS’s websites may not function properly without the aid of cookies.
